SourceOne provides Owner’s Representative
Services and Comprehensive
Energy Management Services to
Biogen Idec nationally. SourceOne
has administered competitive bids for
Biogen Idec’s entire energy profile;
this includes steam, natural gas and
electricity. SourceOne negotiated
all the energy contracts, receives
and reviews utility bills and uniquely,
SourceOne remits payment of the
monthly utility invoices. The Biogen
Idec electric load is currently
approximately 10MW. Biogen Idec
will move this year to generate
electricity via the installation and
operation of a co-generating unit at
its Cambridge World Headquarters
campus. SourceOne has managed
this entire co-generation effort
inclusive of all business plan development,
oversight of resource
selection, negotiation with the
affected LDC (NSTAR), all natural
gas provisioning, secured the inter-
