Cogeneration Plant Redevelopment and Commodity Management
SourceOne has served as the Owners’ Representative for the re-development of NYU's existing cogeneration plant. The NYU site consists of over 50 buildings located around NYU's Washington Square campus. The existing cogeneration plant is a 7000 kW plant providing electricity to 12 buildings. The new plant will be expanded to 13,400 kW and will provide electricity to an additional 18 buildings. The cogeneration plant is integrated into NYU's existing chilled water and hot water production and distribution systems. SourceOne supports NYU in the following areas; technical review, financial evaluation, contract development, assembly of development team and utility liaison. SourceOne's technical and economic evaluation of the project concept plan entailed review and analysis of equipment selection, space allocation, preparation of financial proformas, and development of facility load profiles.
SourceOne has assisted NYU in utility budgeting for the campus and commodity procurement including electricity, natural gas and oil. New York University Washington Square, New York, New York SourceOne advised NYU on the largest renewable energy purchase of any college or university as determined by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
